We’ve Already Done So Much

What an incredible month we’ve just had and now, with only the first weekend of October having past, we’ve already done so much.

First of all, we had another incredible Sunday of services. Second, we supported the launch of the new and successful “God-Talks” program that will likely take the world by storm.

We also had a very special meeting of our members today wherein we discussed several ideas and developments, including the following:

*We asked that our members do their best to be involved at Unity and one way to do so is to volunteer occasionally at some of our events.

*Michael discussed why we allow and include ceremonies such as Native American or Druid or whatever else. We only allow such because we enjoy many playful, creative, and sincere facets of spirituality. We also only allow such when the facilitator is certain to make God, and our connection to God, the top priority of their ritual/ceremony. It was explained that we use this criteria for all events held at Unity and that we have released events and study groups that did not maintain this intention.

*We asked that our members (and attendees) do their best from now on to donate a minimum of $10 per church service each Sunday–even when they don’t attend.

*We also ask that everyone try to donate at least one package of cookies or crackers (or any other snack) to the cafe at least once per month. This is how we are able to provide the snacks after services on Sunday.

*We are having a special membership gathering on Saturday, October 24th immediately following the chaplain training–which means at around 4:30pm. This will be a potluck barbecue and picnic on the lawn. In this gathering, Michael promised to cover some specific, important topics that have to do with our personal lives and spiritual path.

*Lastly, our Board has proposed the creation of a chart that depicts all of our various groups so that people can see/understand where they are in the inclusiveness of our spiritual center. The chart will be made up of several rings that grow larger and larger–starting from the center. The center circle represents God. The next circle represents our Spiritual Leader. The next is our Board. The next is our Chaplains. Then comes staff and volunteers, followed by our Members. Next comes our attendees, our community, and so on…

We pray that more of you choose to become involved to a greater capacity and/or feel the call to participate in more of our activities–starting this month with our Sunday services, then God-Talks, and finally our annual Halloween party. Of course there are also several other events this month–incredible events ranging from sacred gatherings to Native Drumming Ceremonies and from Kundalini Yoga to Meditation workshops. So mark your calendars now so you will remember what God has provided for you through us at Unity of Sedona.
