Understanding of EVERYTHING

In one of our most recent Sunday services, our message focused (in part) on the need for people to deepen their understanding of EVERYTHING. It’s true! We have to evolve beyond being so shallow and weak. We are divine beings and have forgotten our Divine Origins in God, which led to our having a tendency towards low self worth and a lack of courage in our ability to pass our various tests in life. And you can bet that without learning to see the greater depths of all things, there will be little chance of returning to our True Nature.

For example, when things happen in our lives, a typical human being sees it only at face value and fails to realize that we should actually do the following: 1) See the event as somehow reflecting a greater lesson or message to us. 2) Look for the deeper message or synchronicity behind the event.

To view life from a deeper, spiritual perspective, means that if someone we know passes away, we learn to look at what part of US is passing away. If someone (from our past or present) says something to undermine our goal in life or makes us doubt ourselves, our job is to ask ourselves what subconscious doubts we might be holding within that these folks are mirroring.

Another example of our tendency to focus on outer issues, rather than their source within, as well as our tendency to see things only at a shallow level, has to do with those massive prayer vigils (many of us get invited to participate in), wherein everyone will join together to “pray for peace.” This is a very awkward scenario to use as an example of being shallow because we all assume there can’t possibly be anything wrong with praying for peace. But nearly every single gathering for the sake of peace focuses on resolving some terrible conflict somewhere in the world (usually in the Middle East). But, masters all know that there is no conflict “out there” to be praying for. All things we perceive on the outside are merely a reflection of something within. So we are far better off gathering to pray for the healing of our own inner conflicts than we are when praying for outer conflicts. In fact, the latter form of prayer might very well just perpetuate our lack of taking responsibility and therefore perpetuate a greater presence of our ego which then creates more outer conflicts.

So go ahead and join in prayer and do whatever else you will, but we are better off if we rise above the ignorant crowds and do what we can to experience the greatest depths hidden within all of life’s tests and experiences. When we see life from a deeper perspective, it means taking a greater level of responsibility and this translates to praying for peace within. We then can pass this peace along to the world we think we see “out there.”
