What amazing times we are living in! Many of us have been saying for years that we are living in a time of “a great awakening.” And it’s true. But then why, you might ask, does it seem like it feels more like a time of “great sleep?”

Although a paradox, we are indeed in a time of great awakening. But it’s an awakening that is needed because so many people are so deeply asleep—entrenched in their illusions of life. And some people get pretty grumpy when you try to wake them up too early. So too are most humans, since their awakening involves far more inconvenience than merely having to wake up early to go to work.

As you know, I predicted last year that this was coming but I also mentioned several months ago that instead of “rolling up the carpet” so to speak. We—at Unity of Sedona—are instead receiving great new insights and inspirations and are continually moving forward in our mission to serve our community—in Sedona and around the world.

A Dream Comes to Pass

One such inspiration that we’ve been feeling and casually pursuing is that of finding a newer and larger center to host classes and our Sacred Sunday Services. And each year we are reminded that as our buildings get older and older. They are more expensive to keep up. In fact, even our irrigation went kaput a short time ago and it cost over $10,000 to repair. And most of you know how challenging our a/v system has been lately—which is greatly due to the old electrical system.

In any case, we are now able to announce that we have indeed found a new center. The process was magical in so many ways—a great confirmation that we are following the Guidance of Spirit. We held a special member meeting a few weeks ago and had a clear majority vote of approval to pursue a building that had become available. We looked into it, put in an offer, and closed the deal within a week. Also, we put our own property on the market and that too has gone very well. All the legalities (escrow) will conclude in a few weeks. We will spend much of August doing some basic inside painting and outside landscaping to create a beautiful place—comparable to our current location.

A New Location for Unity of Sedona

The new building is roughly 50 years newer than the old one, which means we’ll have a lot less issues with the age of our previous property. And for those who might have doubts about our ability to make the new place as beautiful as the previous one. Please keep in mind that WE are the ones who pulled it off in our current center/grounds, so we can/will do it again. The new center is one mile further down the highway, thus making it more centrally located in heart of West Sedona (near Bashas). But is still just slightly set back away from the main highway—just as we are now. We’ll share more on this on Sunday.

In our new building, which has the same square footage of ALL of our current building combined, we can fit at least 50 more attendees. OR we can allow for greater space between attendees. Our new stage has more room for guest musicians. The area we would use as a patio is all under shade trees so it should prove to be a lot cooler for everyone. And our bookstore too will be much larger.

We Could Use Your Help

If any of you are interested in participating in our renovations, please let us know. But we are planning to be in the new building by the first Sunday of this September—great timing to launch such a wonderful new creation. Of course the down-side is that there is still a global pandemic. There is a chance that there could be challenges with some folks choosing, or being allowed, to attend gatherings. But in our new building, we should have a much easier time simply broadcasting the services live for those who cannot attend in person.

This is a new creation that has come to us and now it will be up to us to nurture it into maturity. So please join us and support us with your love, encouragement, enthusiasm. Of course with any special/generous donations you can offer that we could apply towards this project. And we (Board Members, Chaplains, and our Unity Members) appreciate all that you can offer—in mind, body, spirit, and donations.

Love & Light,
